Sebastián Cole Galván’s work deconstructs concepts of comfort and detritus to prompt exploration of the relationship between symbols and identity. Producing artworks that are process-based, Sebastián works across mediums, influenced by architecture, sculpture, painting, music, and animation. In part due to being dyslexic, language plays a significant role in their work as they by necessity often contend with preconceptions of words and their historical and etymological contexts.

My current art practice examines cultural narratives and their relationship to historical acts of erasure. Deconstructing cultural motifs and displacing iconography from their historical context,  I collage a new collection of lexicons to form non-linear narratives.
